Legora, the agentic operating system for legal work, today announced a deeper integration with NetDocuments, the intelligent document management system for legal professionals, built on NetDocuments' Model Context Protocol (MCP) connection. The new connection deepens a partnership the two companies first announced on July 31, 2025, when Legora became a launch partner for NetDocuments' ndConnect interoperability program. Where that initial integration let lawyers move documents securely between the two platforms, the MCP connection gives Legora's AI direct, governed access to the institutional knowledge that mutual customers keep in NetDocuments.

For mutual customers, NetDocuments is the system of record: their documents, matters, and years of accumulated work product live in their Document Management System. To provide Legora with the necessary context to generate the best outputs, lawyers historically had to know exactly where the relevant files sat and selected them manually. The MCP connection removes that step. A lawyer can now ask a question or start a workflow in Legora, and NetDocuments surfaces the relevant prior matters, filings, and precedent the user is permitted to see – all directly in Legora.

Through this deeper Legora – NetDocuments integration, mutual customers will be able to:

• Find the right documents for AI-powered work: Instead of navigating countless folders and subfolders to assemble the right set of files, a user working in Legora can describe what they need and have NetDocuments search the DMS and surface the relevant documents automatically.

• Work with connected knowledge, not disconnected files: NetDocuments' Legal Context Graph, which continuously maps how documents, matters, and parties relate to one another across the DMS, flows into Legora through this integration. That means Legora understands how a firm's documents fit together as a body of work, rather than treating them as isolated, disparate files, producing output shaped by how the organization actually works.

• Keep governance intact on every request: The access controls, ethical walls, and permissions already enforced in NetDocuments automatically govern any document access on the Legora platform. Each time a Legora user searches NetDocuments, they receive only the documents they are already entitled to see. Existing governance stays current and enforced, removing the risk of a user accidentally crossing an ethical wall or access boundary while using AI.

The MCP connection extends the vision behind the two companies' original integration. When Legora joined ndConnect in 2025, the goal was to let lawyers act on NetDocuments-stored content without the manual downloading, re-uploading, and version juggling that introduces risk and slows work down. The MCP connection advances that further: rather than a user selecting files to move, Legora's agentic AI can reach into NetDocuments for the relevant context on demand, grounded in the firm's own experience and governed by the same rules that apply everywhere else in the DMS.

This matters most on exactly the work where precedent is decisive - drafting from a firm's prior agreements, reviewing a new contract against how similar terms were handled before, or getting up to speed on a matter without reconstructing its history by hand. By pairing Legora's agentic operating system with NetDocuments' governed institutional knowledge, mutual customers spend less time locating and validating precedent and gain more confidence that output reflects how their organization actually works.

The companies will make the connection available to mutual customers, with capabilities and availability communicated over time.
