Interlaw has collaborated with Legora, the Sweden-based legal AI provider, on the first network-wide trial of Legora’s market-leading AI technology, marking one of the most ambitious coordinated AI initiatives undertaken by a global law firm network.

The trial which ran from January to February 2026, brought together lawyers from firms across the Interlaw network in a structured program designed to accelerate understanding, adoption, and practical application of AI-enabled legal services.

Over the course of the trial, participating firms engaged in a series of coordinated training sessions led by Legora’s team of legal engineers designed to provide collaborative learning opportunities tailored to different legal disciplines and workflows, including dedicated sessions for transactional lawyers, dispute and litigation practitioners, and broader demonstrations of Legora’s core functionalities and practical applications in everyday legal work.

The sessions also created opportunities for firms to exchange experiences, share emerging best practices, and explore how AI technology can be implemented responsibly and effectively within independent law firms operating in diverse jurisdictions.

The initiative forms part of Interlaw’s broader five-year strategy to expand access to innovative technologies, strengthen digital capabilities across the network, and support member firms in responding to rapidly evolving client expectations. By coordinating the trial on a global scale, Interlaw enabled firms of varying sizes and markets to evaluate cutting-edge AI technology in a collaborative and structured environment while benefiting from shared learning and peer engagement.

Feedback from trial participants demonstrated strong support for the program and the underlying technology. According to post-trial survey results, 95% of participants said they would recommend Legora to colleagues, while 62% believed the technology would help position their firm as a more innovative law firm within their home market.

Following the conclusion of the trial, a significant number of participating firms have subsequently implemented Legora long term, reflecting growing confidence in the role of AI within modern legal practice and the successful strategy of coordinating trials across a law firm network.

Global Chair of Interlaw Michael Pattinson said, “The legal profession is entering a period of profound technological change, and our priority is to ensure that Interlaw firms, wherever they are in the world, have access to the tools, knowledge, and support needed to compete and thrive in that environment. This initiative demonstrates the value of collaborative learning across our network and provided firms with practical insight into how AI can enhance efficiency, responsiveness, and client service while maintaining the professional standards expected of Interlaw.”

Linda Björkenheim, Head of Partnerships at Legora added, “Working with Interlaw on this global initiative has demonstrated the power of collaboration and shared learning in accelerating AI adoption within the legal sector. The engagement from firms across the network was exceptional, and we are pleased to see many firms continuing their AI journey with Legora. Independent law firms are increasingly looking for practical, scalable ways to integrate AI into legal practice, and this initiative has shown what can be achieved through coordinated international cooperation.”
