Legora now uses EDGAR for improved legal research

Legora is built to be the collaborative AI platform for lawyers across practice areas, firm sizes, and use cases. As part of our ongoing commitment to deliver the most powerful tools to legal professionals, we are expanding the external legal sources available through Legora’s Assistant. This now includes EDGAR, the online database maintained by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), that contains filings submitted by public companies and other entities required by law to report financial and other material information.

With this partnership, lawyers can now retrieve, analyze, and cite SEC filings into their workflows, without leaving Legora. This enables fast, accurate access to material information often buried in regulatory documents. From drafting S-1s to benchmarking M&A agreements or identifying precedent risk factors, Legora users can now surface relevant EDGAR data in seconds.

Paired with Legora’s native abilities, client-specific materials can be combined with relevant precedent from EDGAR to generate precise, context-aware language that aligns with both market norms and clients' unique risk and compliance posture.

Eva Jarbekk on tech law, data, and what the next generation of lawyers should master

Eva Jarbekk, a Partner at leading Scandinavian law firm Schjødt, didn’t set out to be a lawyer. She grew up in a family of engineers, but she was drawn to the comfort of method. “Law is almost a kind of mathematics,” she says. “You may not always get an answer with two lines under it, but you do get an answer.” That mindset of loving rules, hierarchy, and structured interpretation, has anchored a career at the centre of technology, privacy, and the EU’s fast-evolving digital rulebook.
