Last night in Stockholm, 45 women from leading in-house teams and law firms came together for Her Counsel: an evening of insight, connection, and conversation that marked the beginning of something powerful.

The context: Why now?

The future of the legal profession is brighter than ever and it is increasingly female.

• Women now make up over 56% of students in U.S. law schools, surpassing men for the eighth consecutive year.

• Over the same period, women’s representation among law school faculty and deans has grown significantly.

• The pipeline of legal talent is shifting. More women are entering legal education, advancing in academia, and stepping into leadership roles and they’re doing so across jurisdictions and specializations.

This data tell us two things: first, there is momentum; and second, there is responsibility. The momentum is undeniable, but the responsibility lies in ensuring that this talent is empowered, connected, and visible across the industry.

Her Counsel: More than an event
