Legora now supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard that enables secure, real-time connectivity between AI assistants and the tools legal teams rely on every day.
As AI moves from experimentation to embedded workflows, it’s critical that systems work together. MCP enables AI assistants to securely connect to external tools, like document management systems (DMS), e-signature platforms, CRM tools, and more, so Legora can operate within your existing tech stack, not just alongside it.
What makes Legora’s MCP different
The base MCP specification is limited to text. Legora's MCP architecture supports secure file transfer, which enables the Legora Assistant to:
Retrieve documents directly from connected systems
Review, draft, and compare them inside Legora
Send updated or executed versions back to the source system
This document-level approach unlocks legal workflows that standard MCP configurations can’t support. This allows our customers to build custom MCP servers that can use these capabilities.

Built for the legal tech stack
Legora connects to any MCP server, including those offered by legal-specific and enterprise platforms, including DocuSign, HubSpot, Microsoft Teams, and more.
Beyond standard SaaS platforms, firms and in-house teams can build MCP servers on top of bespoke internal systems, without needing to re-architect their infrastructure.
Why MCP matters for legal AI
For law firms and in-house legal teams, AI adoption hinges on three factors:
Security and governance
Interoperability with existing systems
True document-level execution
