NautaDutilh has long combined deep legal expertise with a forward-looking mindset. With offices across Europe and the US, the firm advises on complex transactions, regulatory matters, and cross-border disputes – and consistently embraces innovation to strengthen both the quality and pace of its work. As legal matters become more data-intensive and client timelines more demanding, the firm continues to seek technologies that support its high standards. Against that backdrop, NautaDutilh partnered with Legora to explore how legal AI could streamline workflows and create more space for strategic thinking and client interaction.

“Legora’s collaborative AI platform aligns perfectly with our innovation strategy, “ says Sijmen Vrolijk, Director of Legal & Tech Innovation at NautaDutilh. “After a thorough market assessment, we chose Legora for a pilot, which proved extremely successful. Using real practice-group cases in the implementation ensured strong user adoption while meeting our high security and compliance standards.”

What began as a 50 person pilot quickly evolved into a firm-wide collaboration, driven by clear, practical value. Lawyers and business teams reported meaningful shifts toward higher-value work, faster workflows, and strong enthusiasm for embedding AI into day-to-day practice.

A collaboration built on strong engagement

From the outset, activation rates above 90% showed how naturally Legora fit into existing workflows. Teams across Amsterdam, Brussels, London, Rotterdam and Luxembourg adopted the platform organically, demonstrating that AI was enhancing, not replacing, the expert judgement and precision that defines NautaDutilh.

Usage extended across the firm. Transactional, litigation and regulatory teams, alongside foreign associates, knowledge specialists, business development and operational functions, all incorporated Legora into their daily routines. Power users emerged across departments, reinforcing internal momentum and shared learning.

Clear impact, sustained adoption

Survey results confirmed the collaboration’s impact:

An average of 5.5 hours per week shifted to higher-value work

  • 3 hours saved weekly on non-billable workflows

  • 100% reported faster drafting, reviewing and research

  • 97% saw improvements in output quality

  • 97% would be disappointed to lose access

  • 100% would recommend Legora to a colleague

Importantly, engagement remained high even after the pilot period ended – a clear signal of sustained internal pull.

Building on this success, NautaDutilh is now rolling Legora out globally through a structured adoption plan designed to ensure long-term value and stability.

“The partnership with Legora has been a true delight,” Sijmen Vrolijk comments. “Their team worked closely with our innovators and lawyers to integrate the solution smoothly, empowering our legal professionals to work more efficiently and deliver even greater value to our clients.”

A shared commitment to shaping the future of legal work

By integrating AI thoughtfully into its core processes, NautaDutilh is strengthening how its people work today while preparing for the demands of tomorrow: deep expertise, supported by technology, delivered with speed and precision.

Legora is proud to be part of this journey, one led not by technology alone, but by NautaDutilh’s expertise, culture and ambition.
