Legora, the agentic operating system for legal professionals, today announced that the National University of Singapore Faculty of Law (NUS Law) has joined its Legal AI Scholars Program. Under the partnership, NUS Law faculty and students will receive complimentary access to Legora, together with training sessions delivered by Legora's team in Singapore.

Established in 1957, NUS Law’s curriculum has drawn on perspectives from other jurisdictions and disciplines, reflecting Singapore’s long-standing role as a commercial hub at the crossroads of Asia and earning the Faculty recognition as Asia’s global law school. Legora’s partnership with NUS Law brings agentic AI into how the Faculty prepares students for practice, as firms across the region embed AI into day-to-day legal work.

“Our students will spend their careers in a profession where AI is part of everyday legal work, and university is where they should learn to use it well. Good lawyering, however, still starts with reading cases closely, building a sound argument and taking responsibility for it. We will therefore introduce Legora only once students have established these foundations. The aim is for our graduates to be lawyers who understand when to rely on these tools, and when not to.” said Tan Cheng Han, S.C., Professor and Chief Strategy Officer at NUS Faculty of Law.

Through the program, NUS Law faculty and students will use Legora for legal research, reviewing documents at scale and drafting. The program is designed to build capability rather than shortcuts, so students also learn to evaluate AI outputs critically and defend their reasoning.

Partner institutions receive purpose-built guides, training videos and use-case-specific training sessions, while Legora works directly with faculty to embed AI exercises and assignments into existing courses. At NUS Law, Legora's Singapore legal engineering team will partner NUS Libraries to facilitate access and run training sessions for faculty and students to support the initiative.

“Singapore's law schools are deciding now how their graduates will learn to work with AI, and NUS has chosen to do that on the platform those graduates will use in practice. Providing access is the simple part. What matters is the time our team in Singapore spends with faculty and students, working out where the platform strengthens teaching and where the fundamentals still need to come first,” said Heather Paterson, VP of Legora APJ.

NUS Law joins a growing group of Legal AI Scholars Program institutions that includes Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, Stanford Law School and University of Chicago Law School. The program also recently expanded to the UK, where King's College London, The City Law School and BPP University Law School are the founding members and students in the King's and City pro bono clinics are using Legora on live matters.

The announcement comes as Legora grows its presence in Asia-Pacific, with offices in Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo, Seoul and Bengaluru. Legora is used by more than 130,000 legal professionals across over 80 markets.
