Use of Legora by UK law firms and in-house legal teams has more than tripled since January. In-house use has grown at more than three times the rate of law firms, and corporate legal departments now make up around half of Legora’s UK clients, led by those in financial services.
Legora, the agentic operating system for legal professionals, today reported that in-house legal teams have become its fastest-growing client group in the United Kingdom, now making up around half of its UK client base.
Since 1 January 2026, use of Legora at UK law firms has more than tripled, and use by in-house legal teams has grown faster still. In-house teams now make up just over half of Legora’s UK client base, with legal teams within financial services, including banking and insurance, ranking the largest group of in-house adopters in the UK, followed by professional services. Barclays rolled out Legora across its in-house legal team in early 2026. Deloitte has worked with Legora in the UK since September 2025.
Every output in Legora cites its source, ethical walls keep matters or projects separate, permissions govern who can see what, and an audit trail records what was done. The agent carries out work such as contract review, due diligence and horizon scanning through to a finished deliverable, while the lawyer directs it, reviews it and stands behind it. Those controls are part of the system itself rather than added around it, because Legora was built from the start to support the highest standards of professional rigor and accountability. That is why lawyers in the most heavily regulated sectors have been able to trust and adopt it, and why those in every other sector can too.
Alex Fortescue-Webb, Head of UK & I, Legora, said: “For an in-house team in any sector working out which vendor to trust, the fact that banks and insurers have put Legora through risk, compliance and information security and adopted it is a strong signal. A year ago the majority of our UK clients were law firms. Today around half are in-house teams, many of them in financial and professional services, and firms are growing with us at the same time.”
The UK is one of Legora’s largest markets, and continues to grow. The company acquired London-based Wexler in July, opened the UK chapter of its Legal AI Scholars Program in September with three founding law schools, and is a Platinum sponsor of Legal Geek, where it is presenting this week.
