Fondia, a pioneering full-service business law firm operating across Finland, Sweden, Estonia, and Lithuania, has announced an expanded collaboration with Legora, the industry-leading generative AI suite for lawyers, after a highly successful pilot program. This deepened partnership marks a significant step forward in AI-powered legal service innovation, as Fondia integrates Legora’s generative AI tools across its practice areas to enhance efficiency, streamline legal workflows, and deliver greater value to their customers.

"At Fondia, we want to explore how the use of artificial intelligence can improve the competitiveness and efficiency of our services. We have consistently focused on delivering exceptional service to our customers, and Legora’s AI enhances our ability to do so by seamlessly integrating into our lawyers’ daily work and managing routine tasks. This allows us to dedicate even more time to addressing our customers’ complex legal matters”, said Joachim Mac Donald-Thomé, Group Digital Officer at Fondia.

Following an initial pilot last fall, Fondia’s lawyers working across various legal fields tested Legora’s features in their daily work. The results exceeded expectations, demonstrating considerable efficiency gains, such as more effective contract analysis and improved document review workflows.

"Legora’s features, such as AI-assisted revisions within documents and structured data extraction, significantly enhance the efficiency of our professionals, whether working in Word or conducting tabular reviews for large-scale document analysis. By incorporating AI into our practice, we are not only optimizing efficiency but also elevating the level of service we provide," said Fanny Skult, Legal Designer at Fondia. “Additionally, we are delighted with the rapid pace at which Legora is developing its product, continually advancing the capabilities available to us.”

Fondia, with its team of about 120 lawyers, is recognized for its forward-thinking approach to legal services, particularly through its Legal Department as a Service (LDaaS) model, which provides scalable, adaptive legal teams tailored to business needs. The firm’s commitment to innovation is further reflected in its research-driven approach to AI adoption, ensuring that new technologies align with real-world legal challenges. The firm’s expertise spans various industries, including energy, healthcare, ICT, and real estate, ensuring comprehensive legal support for diverse business sectors.

Since initiating its collaboration with Legora, Fondia has strategically identified high-impact AI applications, allowing its teams to, for example, accelerate legal research and augment contract analysis. The firm has also incorporated AI insights into its legal technology training programs, reinforcing its position as an industry leader in tech-driven legal transformation.

"Collaborating with Fondia’s team has been a true joy. I was particularly impressed by their innovative approach in integrating research during their pilot phase to effectively identify diverse use cases within the public procurement team. We eagerly anticipate continuing our partnership and are excited to contribute to their ongoing success", says Maria Sorsimo, Head of Finland at Legora.
