International law firm Trowers & Hamlins has begun rolling out Legora across its legal departments, following a successful pilot programme. The pilot brought together lawyers from across the firm to test Legora in live workflows, evaluating both its performance and its role within responsible AI adoption.
The results were decisive:
97% of participants reported using Legora weekly
88% rated quality “good” or “excellent”
87% found it “easy” or “very easy” to use
These findings confirmed strong adoption, broad usability, and meaningful value for lawyers across practice areas.
Built on collaboration and governance
The pilot was led by Trowers & Hamlins’ Innovation and Legal Technology team, working alongside the firm’s AI Governance Group. From the outset, lawyers were invited to share aspirations and concerns, helping to shape the scenarios against which Legora was tested.
By creating a supportive environment for experimentation and feedback, the programme not only assessed Legora’s capabilities but also strengthened understanding of how AI can be integrated responsibly into practice.
Rob Mallett, Innovation and Legal Technology Operations Manager at Trowers and Hamlins, commented:
“Legora was a standout choice, consistently impressing us across the board. It's quality, ease of use and strong adoption confirmed that Legora is the right tool for us as we take the next step on our AI journey. During the pilot phase, we validated a large number of highly valuable and practical use cases spanning a wide range of our practice areas. From the outset, the Legora team has been a pleasure to work with – demonstrating great flexibility and a genuine commitment to helping us achieve our goals, from planning our pilots late last year through to reaching the point of rollout. We look forward to building on this strong foundation as part of our ongoing commitment to using technology in delivering effective client solutions that meet their needs."
Victoria Robertson, a commercial and data law specialist and partner in the Trowers and Hamlins commercial team, and the firm's partner innovation champion added:
“Whilst we are embracing technology to enhance the work we do for our clients, this partnership does not diminish the vital role that lawyers play in steering every legal project. Trowers & Hamlins’ approach ensures that AI-generated results are carefully reviewed, refined, and contextualised by skilled practitioners. Through human oversight, the firm continually upholds the professional standards that clients rely upon. To support this, we've implemented a robust AI governance framework, overseen by our AI Governance Group, to ensure that our adoption of AI is safe, responsible, and aligned with our professional standards.”
A shared commitment to the future of legal work
For Legora, this partnership reflects both firms’ shared belief that AI should amplify, not replace, legal expertise.
Max Junestrand, CEO and co-founder of Legora, commented:
“We are delighted to partner with Trowers & Hamlins, a firm that has shown real commitment to exploring how AI can enhance legal practice. Their thorough pilot programme gave us invaluable insights into how Legora can support lawyers in their daily work, while also highlighting the importance of responsible innovation. By embracing this journey, Trowers & Hamlins are setting an important example for how technology can be integrated thoughtfully and effectively into the legal sector.”
Looking ahead
With rollout now underway, Trowers & Hamlins joins a growing community of leading firms embracing Legora to deliver more efficient, precise, and collaborative legal work.
This partnership underlines a simple truth: when technology is introduced with rigour, transparency, and human oversight, it can become a trusted partner in helping lawyers deliver their very best work.
