In June 2026, Legora opened the doors to The Red Line: a pub built in the London alongside Legal Tech Talk, open for two nights only.
For centuries, the pub has been more than just a place to have a drink. It's where strangers become acquaintances, colleagues become friends, and conversations unfold without an agenda. It's where stories are shared, ideas are sparked, and relationships are built – one conversation at a time.
The conversations that matter most rarely happen in boardrooms or conference halls. They happen in the spaces between. Over a drink. Across a table. In places that invite people to slow down, stay a little longer and simply talk. That belief inspired The Red Line.

A pub, open for two nights only
So in June 2026, Legora built one. A fully functioning pub in London's Design District on Greenwich Peninsula, open for just two nights. The Red Line wasn't designed to be another networking event or branded experience. It was an attempt to recreate something increasingly rare: a place where meaningful conversations could happen naturally.
Every detail was crafted to make the pub feel authentic. Actors became bartenders and familiar regulars, giving the space the warmth, character and familiarity of a neighbourhood local. There was no stage, no schedule and no expectation beyond spending time together. Customers, partners and friends of Legora came not to be presented to, but to connect with old friends, new faces and one another.
“We wanted to celebrate the human side of the industry, so rather than another conference format, we built The Red Line – somewhere to bring people together properly,” said Stuart Shingler, SVP Brand and Communications at Legora.

Why a pub, and why now?
The Red Line reflects a belief at the heart of Legora: expertise is, and always will be, human. While technology can transform the way we work, it will never replace the relationships, trust and conversations that define the legal profession. The Red Line was a celebration of those moments, and of the people who created them.
“The Red Line is an example of how we believe a brand should operate - with ambition, creativity and a sense of fun,” Shingler said. “That’s why we built an actual pub, open for two nights, filled with the people who make this industry tick."

Built to be used again
The thinking extended to how the pub was made. Designed to be packed down and repurposed for future activations, The Red Line was crafted with circularity in mind and to minimize waste. Any surplus materials were donated to Ravensbourne University for students to reuse.
The building was never the point
The Red Line stood for just two nights. But like any great local pub, it was never really about the building. It was about the people inside it, the conversations they shared and the connections they took away.
Because sometimes, creating the right place is all it takes for something meaningful to happen. That is the thinking Legora brings to everything it builds, from the tools that give lawyers their time back to the spaces that bring the profession together.
