Poland is one of Europe’s most competitive legal markets, and SSW has never been content to follow the pack. The firm has long been known for its willingness to test the boundaries of legal technology, and today that commitment accelerates dramatically with the announcement of its partnership with Legora, the platform SSW believes is capable of powering the use cases a modern top-tier law firm requires.
SSW is rolling out Legora firm-wide to ensure that every one of its 200-strong team – from junior associates to senior partners – can work with a single, deeply capable AI platform that enhances internal efficiency, strengthens client delivery, and opens the door to new, more sophisticated legal offerings.
Early experimentation
This collaboration is the result of a journey for SSW that began almost a decade ago, long before AI entered the mainstream. “We’ve always embedded technology in our activity,” says Piotr Spaczyński, Managing Partner at SSW. “As far back as 2017 we decided AI was a logical choice if you wanted to further develop sophisticated legal technology of the future. We developed an early AI system but nothing available back then could really meet our expectations. Most of those solutions don’t even exist today.”
Their early experiments taught them one thing above all: accuracy is everything. Without it, adoption collapses and AI becomes a time drain rather than a transformation. “We struggled with accuracy of tools back then, and with the intelligence of the system,” Piotr explains. “Once we entered the ChatGPT era, we decided to make our prior technology redundant. But the experience we gained allowed us to understand exactly what we needed, and exactly what clients would expect and benefit from”

That clarity shaped SSW’s search for a next-generation platform. When they first tested Legora they immediately recognised something they had never seen before.
“The AI was finally clever. You can start working with Legora instantly, without any fine-tuning. When the accuracy of AI goes above 90% or 95%, it really improves what lawyers can achieve and adds value for our clients.”
For SSW, that single threshold changes everything. “With Legora we can process thousands of documents written in different styles, formats, and structures, and return near-perfect outputs in minutes. That’s when efficiency stops being a nice-to-have and becomes a competitive advantage.” Piotr puts it plainly: “If you’re getting highly accurate results delivered in seconds or minutes, that’s when the technology is ready. We simply haven’t seen anything else come close.”
Why SSW needed a platform, not a point solution
In Poland’s legal market, one of the fastest-growing and most saturated in Europe, client expectations have risen sharply. Younger lawyers entering the profession expect modern digital tools. Boards push in-house teams to be more efficient. New entrants compete aggressively. “In a competitive market, you need to be ahead of the curve if you want to be successful,” Piotr says. “Harnessing technology is one of the ways to achieve that competitive leverage.”
Legora’s breadth and depth were central to SSW’s decision. It was the first system that didn’t force trade-offs between accuracy, scalability, and functionality. And more importantly, it aligns with how SSW believes the market will evolve. “Firms don’t want a patchwork of niche tools, they want an advanced one-stop solution where every sophisticated use case can be executed within a single, coherent platform.” Piotr explains. “With multiple technologies we always hit barriers, but Legora checks all the boxes.”

The role of champions and rapid adoption
One of the ways SSW is successfully driving the usage of Legora is through internal ambassadors. “You have an idea of who you think will be early adopters, but you always have accidental heroes,” Piotr laughs. “People in diverse teams across the business began comparing Legora to other generative AI resources, and realising that they were receiving more precise results with Legora, This, in turn, creates a rapidly expanding team of ‘true believers’ and a contagious wave of positive experiences, with a compounding effect that ultimately reaches our clients. Once you have that, you have your ambassadors.”
These ambassadors drive adoption across the firm, modelling how Legora fits naturally into legal workflows. “Success doesn’t relate solely to the tool,” says Piotr, “it depends on the individual creativity of each lawyer and their unique perspective.”
To nurture that creativity, SSW uses both structure and playfulness, from organised demonstrations of practice-specific use cases, to internal competitions that encourage junior lawyers to experiment and impress.
The result is an organisation where AI isn’t a project, it is a cultural habit.
Transforming client service at scale
This collaboration is not only reshaping internal workflows; it’s also redefining how SSW serves clients. Legora’s forthcoming white-label capabilities allow SSW to embed its know-how into client-facing self-service tools, controlled, updated, and maintained by SSW, but accessible directly by clients.
“When we show clients the tabular review for lease agreements, they go, ‘Whoa, this is mind-blowing,’” Piotr says. “Some want to use the technology as a self-service with our expertise built into it. They don’t want to fine-tune it themselves. They want the combination of the technology and our legal intelligence. The one dynamic common across most of our clients is that they recognise the value.”

Why choosing the right AI matters
As the legal market accelerates towards AI, Piotr believes the biggest divide in the next few years will be between firms that choose the right technology and firms that fall behind. “We are approached almost weekly by AI vendors,” he says. “Most of these solutions do not work. They are not efficient. They are not accurate. If you start with the wrong technology, you’re wasting time.”
His message to the market is unmistakable: “If you want to lead, and if you want the most sophisticated use cases, you must adopt the technology that is relevant, accurate, and really works.
What excites SSW most is not simply what Legora can do today, but what it unlocks tomorrow. “The cleverness of these systems is unbelievable,” Piotr says. “Younger lawyers entering the market can combine their know-how with new ideas and embrace the technology to create amazing things.”
In a competitive market, attracting that next generation of talent matters. “For newcomers, this is extremely important,” Piotr notes. “Technology is ingrained in their lives. If you give them the opportunity to work with advanced AI, your firm becomes much more relevant and desirable.”
Shared vision and confidence
“We’ve been monitoring Legora for well over a year, a lifetime in AI terms,” Piotr concludes. “The technology looked great then, and it looks even better now. SSW didn’t choose a tool, we chose the most advanced solution available, and a strategic partner that matches our boldness.”
With this partnership, SSW is setting a new standard for what an ambitious AI-driven law firm looks like.
