When GÖRG considered partnering with Legora, the question was whether AI could be meaningfully integrated into complex legal workflows and whether lawyers would actually use it when deadlines were tight and mandates were demanding.

Since its structured introduction in the Munich, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Cologne and Berlin offices, Legora's weekly user rate has reached an impressive 96.81%.

GÖRG is one of Germany's leading independent commercial law firms, with more than 380 lawyers advising on all core areas of commercial law. Its reputation is based on its ability to handle complex matters, whether it be insolvency-related restructuring, complicated M&A transactions or contentious proceedings where precision and timing are crucial.

In such an environment, new tools are not introduced lightly. They must prove themselves in demanding workflows. In addition, the tools are extensively tested in practice-oriented pilot projects with corresponding KPIs by GÖRG's internal Legal Tech & Unit, which has high standards.

What sets this introduction apart is the depth and breadth of its use. The commitment arose organically in the teams across all service lines. From associates to senior associates, counsel and partners, everyone worked within the same evolving infrastructure embedded in a strategic framework.

From experiment to daily use

One attorney generated 459 prompts in less than three weeks, averaging more than 22 per working day. Across the firm, 32 attorneys exceeded 100 prompts in a single month using the Assistant alone. The same pattern can be observed in the Word add-in, where several users generated more than 100 prompts and one associate reached 290 in a month.

These figures show that AI is being integrated in a meaningful and structured way into drafting, structuring, reviewing and analytical preparation. It is present when arguments are refined, documents are checked for resilience and positions are clarified under time pressure.

Dr. Karla Gubalke, partner at GÖRG’s Berlin office having more than twenty years experience in complex M&A and real estate transactions points out: "Legora has meaningfully simplified our work as transactional lawyers in a remarkably short period of time. By reducing manual workload and standardizing routine tasks, it frees up valuable time that I can dedicate to deeper analysis and to providing tailored, client‑focused advice. Legora’s strong performance in analysing complex data sets has been particularly impressive and is truly a game changer for our due diligence work.”

Structured introduction, sustainable engagement

The implementation strategy, developed in close collaboration between GÖRG's legal tech team and Legora, played a crucial role in the firm's engagement rates. The rollout included 35 hours of face-to-face onboarding sessions and additional online formats, all structured to provide immediate value to GÖRG's lawyers. The focus was on practical integration: how does AI support argumentation, accelerate document workflows and improve consistency between teams?

As Daniela Bilotta, Legal Tech Manager at GÖRG and Project Lead for the implementation of Legora, emphasizes: "Onboarding is the foundation of a successful AI rollout. It should go beyond standard online sessions and take place in an interactive, face-to-face setting. This is what truly drives adoption, while also strengthening awareness around responsible AI use and building trust in the technology as part of daily legal work."

In many organisations, pilot projects initially generate a lot of enthusiasm before usage declines. At GÖRG, weekly engagement has remained stable even after the launch, indicating sustainable integration. There were power users in all departments, but acceptance was not limited to a small group. It spread across all practice areas and hierarchical levels, reflecting the institutional orientation.

Arkadiusz Rzepka, Head of the Legal Tech & Digital Transformation Unit highlights the success of the integration: 'The roll-out was made successful by the collaboration. The Legora team worked closely with us throughout the implementation, quickly understood our workflows and paid close attention to how our lawyers work and what strategic approach we are pursuing with the integration of a legal AI ecosystem like Legora. This partnership is making a real difference.’

Infrastructure, not overlay

What is taking shape at GÖRG is not the introduction of AI as a peripheral tool. It is the integration of AI into the firm's working infrastructure.

Legal judgement remains central. Strategic thinking, negotiation and advocacy are still of paramount importance.

But the processes that support them, such as synthesising large amounts of material, structuring complex drafts, comparing positions and refining arguments, are accelerated.

With a MAU consistently above 96% and broad cross-functional engagement, Legora has moved beyond pilot status. It is increasingly embedded in the way GÖRG drafts, analyses and delivers legal work.

And perhaps most significantly: the momentum continues to grow, with GÖRG playing a leading role in the structured adoption of AI in law firms.
